A Camera’s Journey begins in the California Redwood Forest
near San Francisco on March 20th 1956. The camera was a brand new Brownie Box
Camera, a birthday gift for an 8 year old lad who said he wanted to take pictures.
Along with the camera came a couple rolls of black and white
film, I think with room for 8 or 12 photos per roll. If I remember correctly,
both rolls of film were ready to get developed before the day was over. Pictures
of the giant trees, a quietly flowing cold stream, my brother, sister, mom and
dad, and a few of my parent’s friends with their kids filled the rolls with
exciting birthday memories.
